I made a soundfont based on the Casio VL-Tone (or VL-1) piano preset.
All 53 notes in the instrument’s range (G2 to B6) were individually sampled via the VL-Tone’s line output at 96kHz/24bit then down converted to 48kHz/16bit.

Saved me $15 from a real VLTone! Thanks!

But a real VL-Tone has 4 other presets and you can program new sounds…not to mention the percussion section and calculator feature…well worth $15 IMO.

Why did you sample the sounds @ 96kHz?
What gear did you use for the AD?
Why did you apply noise reduction to the samples?
I still appreciate this sf though, thanks!

Nothing special gear-wise: just an Audigy 2 ZS card. As for recording at 96kHz: I always do, so…force of habit really.
The VL-Tone’s background hiss is pretty loud - I figured the samples would be more useful without it.
